World Preclinical Congress 2016 Highlights

Dear Members of the WPC Community,

Thank you very much for taking the time to participate in the World Preclinical Congress (WPC) in Boston this June! Over 1,000 participants united in Boston including attendees, 200 speakers, 70+ exhibiting companies, 100+ poster presenters, 20 student fellows and a few high school students joining us this year to make the event a real success.

WPC 2016 featured 12 conferences, 2 symposia, 11 short courses and a training seminar, covering various topics in preclinical research. There were numerous panel discussions and breakout sessions, which provided an opportunity to interact and network. The plenary keynote program, attended by more than 350 attendees, brought together scientists from pharma, academia and technology companies who shared interesting perspectives on how to innovate traditional drug discovery. Student fellowships were given out to young researchers, helped them present and showcase their research findings. Sponsored talks given by technology and service companies brought attendees up to speed on the latest offerings in tools and technologies.

The feedback we have received from many of you, thus far, has been quite positive. Please continue to share your ideas with us so we can make WPC even more useful and relevant for you.

We are thrilled to announce our Inaugural World Preclinical Congress Europe eventwhich will take place 14-16 November 2016 in Lisbon, Portugal. We will be back in Boston, June 13-15, 2017 at The Westin Copley Place and we hope to see you again at one of these events!

Here's what attendees, speakers and sponsors said about this year's event:

Most interactive conference I have ever attended! Brings experts from academia, pharma, biotech, and national security together to efficiently interact and network!
Scientist, Biogen

I was very pleased with the audience participation generated by our presentation during Q/A, as well as immediately after Q/A. It has been an intellectually stimulating session. Thank you again for the opportunity to present our work.
Ph.D., VP R&D/Co-Founder, ArmaGen Inc

Two weeks after Wpc, we closed a 50,000 dollar contract from a contact that we met.
VP Business Development, Nueroscience Associates

Subsequent to our podium presentation, we received a RFP from a potential client.
CSO, Neurotar

At WPC we met a prospect who had never heard of us before and she was completely blown away by the product. She said that she had budget available and she would process an order as soon as she got back to the office.
Co-founder and VP, Studylog Systems Inc

Hands-down, WPC is the best conference of the year for us.
Director of Sales and Marketing, Nortis Bio

I had great time at the conference, which covered the breadth and depth of some of the hottest and most relevant topics in drug discovery, by some of the country's best experts in their fields. I had fun and most stimulating time - great job guys, it was a real privilege being a part of it!
Ph.D., Eli Lilly

After having returned safely back to Berlin, I like to take the opportunity to thank you again for inviting me to this really excellent congress and indeed for your great hospitality in preparation and throughout the meeting. It's been a wonderful experience.
Ph.D., Bayer

I really enjoyed the workshop and the whole meeting. I have already downloaded some presentations which are very useful to discuss internally. I think the quality was high and believe that the audience was satisfied. I am always happy to work with you and looking forward to see you at the next meeting again. Also, wish you all the best for the Lisbon meeting. I am sure it will be a great success.
Speaker, Novartis

It is so nice to re-connect with you at the recent WPC meeting, which is a big success. I have enjoyed every talk and met many new friends. Some of these could lead to collaborations in the future.
Scientist, NCTR, FDA

Thank you very much for the invitation. It was a good meeting! I thought the session was good, and I have received one email since then that most likely will lead to a collaboration. I also met people I normally would not have come across, so I think the session accomplished what you set out to do. I would be happy to participate in another meeting.
Professor, Weill Cornell Medical College

I really had a good time at the conference. I thought that the roundtable generated some great discussions. Also, you had a very good diversity of talks with some very interesting innovation. I also enjoyed the vendor selection - it was the right mix and a one stop shop for me that generated some ideas.
Scientist, Bristol-Myers Squibb

Thanks for inviting me to the meeting. I think that the conference went well from my perspective. It seems that several of the drug-induced liver injury conferences I have attended in the past few years have featured speakers who might be well regarded but don't have much new to say. I found this conference somewhat different.
Conference Speaker

Thanks very much for the opportunity to speak at the conference - I thought the entire event was terrific, well-attended and with outstanding quality of presentations. My breakout session was extremely well-attended … I hope to join you again next year.
Conference Speaker

Thank you for the invitation, it was a pleasure to present in front of specialist[s] of Organs-on-Chips and share opinions and ideas.
