Venue: Postilion Convention Centre WTC Rotterdam, Rotterdam, The Netherlands
The 6th Microbiome R&D and Business Collaboration Forum is one of the three meetings forming the Microbiome Probiotics Series: Europe.
The 2019 series will bring together more than 400 industry, academic, and investment leaders to discuss the must cutting-edge microbiome research, challenges and opportunities in moving research towards commercialisation, and potential partnerships and collaborations.
For the first time, this event will be three days. As an attendee, you will get more in-depth content on the key challenges and topics facing researchers and product developers, and more time to establish partnerships. Hear from top scientists in the field, meet willing investors and collaborators, and learn about exciting new companies in the microbiome space. The quality of presentations has been really good. There was an interesting mix of business focused and scientific presentations. It's been refreshing to have different speakers. I've been at quite a few microbiome conferences in the last year or so and there's new talks here that I've not heard before.
Associate Professor, Gut Health Theme, Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health
There's been all sorts of presentations on different aspects of the human microbiome, on the development of the brain, on the impact of the human microbiome on various diseases, of increases of sequencing technologies and what that's allowed us to do. I also find it very useful that there were so many people with a developed product. It was extremely valuable having these two communities together in such close proximity.

This conference is one of the very few that really gives us a large review about what's going on in this booming field of microbiomes.
We've seen some really good science, some really high quality research, we've also had a discussion about how you can invest in the space, and some of the challenges around developing products as opposed to pure science. It makes it very interesting.
